Mike - guitars, vocals and eyes closed, shredding leads
Biography:
Mike Hashimoto comes to the band Wall of Shadows via the way of the wheels, Red Wings and other fanatical pursuits, not least of which is playing guitar. Mike was fed a steady diet of soul, funk and R&B in the Motown setting, but it only rubbed off slightly. Musical attraction generally favors the direction of classic rock from the likes of Hendrix, Page, Beck and Clapton (can anyone say 'Yardbirds'?), along with blues, classical and some jazz. Never wanting to be typecast to any given musical direction or genre, favor goes to the diversity and appreciation of music, its styles and impressions, especially from the era in which it was created.
Mike favors Gibson guitars and, in fact, still plays a classic SG Standard from "the day". How many still have a chrome tailpiece with a wammy? While many jam and rock band scenarios have been played out in the past, this WoS experience is a unique blend and draws Mike's attention in a way more unified and focused than many prior musical pursuits. A significant attention to detail permits Wall of Shadows to re-create covers in the true spirit of the original artist. Mike, as a WoS member, has an appreciation for the band as a team, where everyone knows their role. Individually, a deeper desire burns to compose and create and to share with the world; something original and perhaps a style not yet heard before. This is a future chapter with WoS to be continued...
